Teachers ask you to... mothers want you to... WASH YOUR HANDS. H1N1 notwithstanding, there are just horrible things that happen when you do not wash your hands. Everything from contaminating your food with germs that should be relegated to the bathroom to picking up a nasty infection through a hang nail can be prevented with good, thorough hand washing.
So... how does one wash his/her hands “well”? Here are some facts and tips from the standard precautions used in most American hospitals... now go, wash, be germ free!
- Nosocomial (result of treatment in a hospital) infections are most frequently spread by contact and the most common form of contact is hand contact
- Handwashing is the most important and most effective means of preventing nosocomial transmission of organisms.
- Artificial fingernail enhancements contribute to nail changes that can increase the risk of colonization and transmission of pathogens.
- Outbreaks of infections have been traced to the artificial fingernails of health care workers. (Anything else applied to natural nails other than polish is considered an enhancement. This includes, but is not limited to artificial nails, tips, wraps, appliques, acrylics, gels, and any additional items applied to the nail surface.)
- Alcohol gel, liquid or foam soap is appropriate for hand hygiene.

The ChiBolster® Remedial Pilates exercise program incorporates traditional pilates methods with a modern twist. Recognised by therapists as an effective program to re-educate incorrect movement patterns, you will find that our educational framework provides an easy, effective and flexible way to build core strength, relieve pain and balance the body for better health and well-being.
We have developed this program to incorporate our ChiBolster® which acts as a support in carrying out pilates movement, while providing a focal point to gain a better understanding of correct posture and exercise functions. Sensory nodules unique to the ChiBolster® activate specific points on the meridians to restore health and aid in the relief from pain.
Its versatility means that you can use your ChiBolster® as a massage tool to provide relief for tired sore muscles as well as a posture support that can be used in the home, office or while travelling.
In the United States we are well represented by our Master Trainers Leslee Bender, Laina Scolnik and June Kahn at all SCW Mania events for 2009.
Our program delivers a theoretical framework consisting of a three part series which includes: Fundamentals, Intermediate & Advanced exercise progressions. It has been developed to complement the existing knowledge of Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Personal Trainers and Pilates Teachers. Throughout all levels we follow and promote the philosophy that “Less is More”. Our exercise program will provide you with all the information you need to learn & teach the next revolution in exercise and rehabilitation.
