For those looking to lose weight, water fitness might be the route less travelled, as participants wrongfully equate low-impact with low-energy. However, with the right water program, coupled with careful dietary choices and commitment, you can attain some pretty incredible results. Kay Heidrich, a WATERinMOTION® instructor at the Cass Clay YMCA and program leader for Weight Watchers, took the time to share how she lost her weight in the water—all 72 pounds.
“I’ve struggled with weight since I was a kindergartner,” Heidrich said. “I tried [Weight Watchers] three times before it actually stuck. It took me two years, and I lost 72 pounds on the program.”

Over the past nine years, small-group (SG) personal training programs have grown in popularity from 43% to 78%, and are showing no signs of slowing. In this economy, gym owners need to sit up and take note: Facilities of all sizes are attracted to the potential profit of SG programs.
Take advantage of small-group personal training in order to efficiently meet the needs of your clients. Trainers are drawn to it because they make more money in less time while meeting the needs of more clients. Clients win because they receive personalized programs at a perceived lesser cost, but in a motivating environment.
Be a hero! For those of you who work at a gym or facility with pools and pool equipment, please take note:
